La Luna Cafe

Opened in 2025 by the lovely Francois and Louise (he is French and she is English) this cafe is well worth the short (albeit uphill….) walk from the main square in Aubeterre. 

The cakes - all home-made - are to die for with the burnt Basque cheesecake and the carrot cake being the best we’ve ever tasted, plus there are plenty of gluten free and vegetarian options, quite a rare in France. 

A selection of delicious ‘pinsas’ and huge planchers of cheese, charcuterie and vegan are served all day - useful if you find yourself too late for the rigid 12-2 french lunchtime hours.
